ABOUT US
The Expanded Functions Dental
Assistant Association is a professional organization
that provides services to California licensed Registered
Dental Assistants in Extended Functions.
This organization’s mission is to promote the advancement
of the RDAEF through education, legislative
representation, current information on changes occurring
within the dental delivery system and activities which
will improve the delivery of quality dental care to
California citizens.
Our online education provides an avenue for working
RDAEFs to keep abreast of current changes in dental
delivery, while providing this education in the comfort
of your home. The combination online and hands on
courses, provide as much of theory education on line and
the required hands on in a location near your home.
EFDAA is approved by the Dental Board to offer new "EF" programs. EFDAA is currently offering both RDAEF programs in Southern California. The practical teaching staff and administrators
for this new exciting program are career professionals
that are knowledgeable and possess the highest level of
clinical expertise. They truly love sharing their
knowledge through teaching and inspiring students to
succeed in the dental assisting profession.
Dr. Patricia Ryan, a dental faculty member, renowned educator, will be teaching the RDAEF program for EFDAA starting in February, 2010. Dr Ryan has been an Assistant Professor of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Southern California, as well as taught courses in pre-clinical restorative techniques, porcelain veneers, esthetic dentistry and served as a clinical instructor for mock dental boards. In addition, to her many years of teaching, she received the coveted Rex Ingram Award for excellence in restorative dentistry and the Floyd E. Hogeboom Award for outstanding achievement in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Ryan currently has a successful practice and contributes her success in part to the contributions made by her two very qualified RDAEFs.
EFDAA is approved by the Dental Board to offer new mandatory 8 hour infection control courses not only in the traditional classroom setting, but a customized course conducted at your dental practice.
All clinical faculty for this course have been licensed dental assistants and dental assisting educators for years. They are leaders in their field and possess the most current knowledge in infection control and OSHA compliance.
Four hours of this course is theory, conducted online and completed before a student is assigned to the clinical component of the course. After the student has successfully completed the theory, he/she is assigned to perform pre-clinical and clinical exercises in a dental office setting.
